2010 Toyota Mark-X Launched

Toyota Japan has revealed its new 2010 model year redesigned Mark X, just a few days before its official debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Salon.

The new mid-size sports sedan features a new 3.5-litre V6 engine, which is mated with a 6-speed Super ECT gearbox. The engine produces 318HP at 38.7 kg of peak torque. The 2010 Toyota Mark-X will also be available in a 2.5-liter V6 engine (also with six-speed automatic transmission) the output of which is 203HP and 24.8 kg of peak torque. This engine makes it possible for the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.

The Mark-X shares the same rear-wheel drive platform with the JDM Toyota Crown and Lexus GS models. The 2010 Toyota Mark X will be offered in two versions, Sports type and Premium type.

Some of the most significant changes to vehicle are the newly styled front and rear ends and improved safety features, including SRS (Supplemental Restraint System, Pre-Crash Brake Assist system, the new Radar Cruise Control system, Adaptive Front-lighting System and the Hill-start Assist Control.

The 2010 model year Toyota Mark-X has also a number of interior changes: an HDD navigation system with Map on Demand and Intelligent Parking Assist system while the more premium models are fitted with a built-in terrestrial digital TV tuner and 12 speakers among others.

The basic 250G with the 2.5 V6 and rear-wheel drive is priced from 2,380,000 yen in Japan, while the top-spec 350S L-Package will cost 3,800,000 yen.
